The feast of the Visitation is the feast of the Magnificat, of the exultant song that blossoms in the heart, erupting, of the humble maiden of Nazareth and ascends to God, to the Father, for the gifts of grace with which He accompanied her in her personal maturation, as a woman, as a believer, as a mother; gifts with which she supported, even before, her ancestors, her people, her folks, that group of faithful Jews in which she, Mary, is firmly rooted. It is in this liturgical framework that Sr. M. Rita pronounces her final yes, her perpetual vows to God, in the church of the generalate house, in Passo Corese, surrounded by the affection of brothers, sisters, friends, and relatives, who came in large numbers from Foggia. And, like Mary, Sr. M. Rita also says thank you to the Lord for the life that has been given and given back to her, which she now gives back to the Father. A thank you filled with pain, however, due to the news of the sudden passing of her dad, Mario, which arrived just a few hours before the ceremony began. Fr. Martino did not fail to notice it in the homily of the Mass: "Your father is here now, he is more present than ever! He wanted to be here with you, by your side in this moment!" He then adds: "Dad Mario gave you life when you were born, and now, in his death, he gives his life again for you, he offers it so that you may be reborn!".
A ceremony, one can imagine, rich in emotions, where joy mixed with tears, and tears were transfigured into even greater joy, supported by the hope of full life, eternal life. In the general emotion, the words of the closing song resonated in all their depth: "... we will go and proclaim that to Him everything is possible." In God's ways, everything is possible, even that death and life meet in the greatest Mystery.
